On February 3rd Paramount Home Entertainment will release the second wave of I Love the 80’s DVDs! Relive the decade where everyone tried to save Ferris, had a “need for speed” and danced to the hit songs from “Footloose”. The 80s gave us a wide collection of totally tubular films that defined an entire generation, and the “I Love the 80’s” DVD Collection has 40 films that will take you right back to that decade — and each DVD comes with a bonus music CD (while supplies last). Whether you were a preppy, had really big hair, or wore a neon t-shirt under your Members Only jacket, relive some of the greatest moments of the decade through the films that gave the 80s its identity!

The newest to the collection are:

  • The Naked Gun
  • Flash dance
  • Coming to America
  • Top Secret!
  • Cheech & Chong Still Smokin

We have spent the past week watching these fantastic movies!

The 1980s —what a feeling! The music, the fashion, but especially the MOVIES! Paramount Home Entertainment and VH1 celebrate the best films of that unforgettable decade in the second wave of the I Love the 80’s Collection. From Academy Award®-winning dramas Ordinary People , An Officer and a Gentleman and The Accused to the inspired hilarity of The Naked Gun: From The Files of Police Squad!, Top Secret! and Cheech & Chong Still Smokin. Thirty of the most memorable motion pictures released between 1980 and 1989 are available nationwide on DVD on February 3, 2009—accompanied by a special bonus CD containing songs by some of the era’s top recording artists.

The second installation in the I Love the ‘80s film series gives preppies, punks and everyone else who loved the ‘80s a chance to take home a little bit of fun pop culture history. This unique collaboration between Paramount Home Entertainment and VH1 debuted in August 2008 with 40 of the decade’s outstanding films. Now, dozens more movies are available to all retailers to own in striking retro-style packaging, specially priced from $12.99-$19.99 S.R.P. In addition to the bonus CD containing four songs by some of the era’s top recording artists, the promotion offers consumers two free music downloads with the DVD purchase (while supplies last) giving them even more opportunity to relive the 80’s!
